Hnina Snacks Cereal No Glyphosate here!
TO DIE FOR... NOT FROM
Hi guys...Ron here...for a change. This week EWG (a great consumer organization that tests products for toxins) released a report finding Roundup Glyphosate in 43 of 45 of the most popular oat cereals, granolas, snack bars and oatmeals. The list of course included Cheerios, Lucky Charms and a bunch of Quaker and Kellogs products, but also KIND bars and plenty of healthy sounding Nature this and Earth that...Whole Foods too...et tu Brute? You get it....we're not safe. Roundup is widely used in non-organic agriculture and therefore Glyphosate is likely found in so much of what we consume....like it or not. It's bad! Roundup was categorized as “probably carcinogenic to humans” by the World Health Organization’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in a March 2015 report. If they say "probably" with the weight of ten industries' lobbyists on them, then I'm going to go with DEFINITELY cancer causing. But hey, that's just me. Last week a court ordered Monsanto to pay $289 million in damages to a man exposed to Roundup's Glyphosate. Case closed. It's time we all eliminate this cancer causing agent from our lives. What do you say? When I first read about this report today in the People's Chemist newsletter with the equally jarring headline Cancer in Cheerios I had a Eureka moment. I ran to grab some Hnina Sprouted Seeds in Pure Maple Syrup (yea, we tend to have some around the house), broke up a single large cracker into smaller pieces and poured some milk over it (it's strange, we never have milk in the house but yesterday I bought a small bottle for some reason....was meant to be!)
Holy moly! IT WAS AWESOME. Just a touch of sweetness from the maple and tons of super crunch from the sprouted and dehydrated seeds. It was really amazing. I ran to share with my little girl Julia (Carmel was at Jiu Jitsu with Vanessa) and she loved it!!!!
I then ran back to the fridge and poured some Hnina Sprouted Trail Mix in Pure Maple Syrup into the bowl, added milk, and WOW! Even better! The same sprouted seed crackers but with coconut chips, dates and nuts. Pure perfection. Carmel came home and grabbed the bowl. LOVED IT!
I was so excited and knew I had to tell you about it immediately. So it may take a while before we package them in "cereal boxes" but for now, you have to try it with whatever milk or dairy free replacement you use. I think I only used about a single ounce per bowl, maybe a bit more. You know our products are so nourishing that they are very satiating. The seeds crackers are also so dense and filling. Please try it and let us know what you think. 10% OFF coupon below. Vanessa hasn't tried it....she won't touch milk. Cheers, Ron
