This morning my 7 year old twins asked “What’s Nutella? The kids at school eat it. Why can't we have it?"
Don’t get me started on the matter...
When I was a child, my mom bought Nutella. I remember taking it while she wasn't looking and hiding under my bed. I ate most of it with my fingers.
Guess what happened? At 9 years old I became a very overweight child.
So if Nutella is SO "good," why do we get fat and inflamed from eating it?
Because it's made with addictive, inflammatory, nutrient-free ingredients.
Imagine your brain when you feed it a "glob" of refined sugar, saturated fat, and no nutrients inside?
Your brain will ask for more and more and more...because it can't stop...
Even Dr. Mercola has spoken recently about the dangers of Nutella. He just tweeted this two days ago:
This image speaks for itself.
Advertised as a "healthy" hazelnut spread with a touch of chocolate, Nutella isn't healthy at all.
Dr. Mercola wrote, "Nutella doesn't live up to the hype...Nutella has celebrated its 50th year anniversary and appears to be well established in their niche market of spreadable chocolate. Interestingly, crimes related to the product have also made the news..."
Crimes caused from eating Nutella?!
That makes sense, given the high sugar content.
When you ingest Nutella, your body gets slammed with junk, causing you to act out.
Mercola added, "... an infusion of sugar is not part of a balanced diet. In fact, eating sugar triggers natural opioids in your brain and may be as addictive as cocaine to some people." "Sugar increases your risk of disease, tricks your body into gaining weight and may trigger behavioral changes..."
Now my daughters understand why Nutella is bad.
The good news is... HNINA makes a healthy version of Nutella.
You read that right!! It's healthy!!
My Hazelnut & Almond Spread is loaded with beneficial nutrients that nourish the body.
Unlike Nutella (which aside from crimes, causes weight gain, and mood swings), HNINA nut spreads are amazing for you.
I'll quote from this week's article in USA Love List, which also compared HNINA to Nutella:
"HNINA Sprouted Hazelnut and Almond Spread is made with:
• organic certified sprouted and lightly roasted Hazelnuts
• organic certified sprouted and lightly roasted almonds
• organic and fair-trade certified raw cacao mass
• organic certified dates, and
• organic certified raw vanilla beans
As these clean, whole ingredients suggest this spread is loaded with protein, fiber, antioxidants, healthy fats and vitamins.
Feel free to indulge. Unlike Most of the gourmet spreads on the market it contains no emulsifier, refined sugar, dairy or palm oil. This is dairy-, gluten-, and refined oil-free, and paleo and vegan."
Yes, we're a nut butter like no other.
As for the taste, amazing! And the sweetening? Just right. Our nourishing beautiful real Medjool dates come to around 5%... compared to 55% of horrid refined sugar!!!!
This "powerhouse" of nutrition is why when you eat a little bit of HNINA nut spread, you're satisfied quickly, and you have no urge to eat more.
Yes, it costs more than the junk... that's because we care about nutrients and sustainability. All of our ingredients are of the highest quality, and all nourishing and healthy.
Avoid the sickness and disease that comes from eating sugar and palm oil.
Yes, we say HNINA is to die for...not from! The choice is clear.
Now my daughters enjoy a healthy version of "Nutella."
They'll be better off than the other kids who are eating actual Nutella. They won't have the addiction, nor the inflammatory impact of the pseudo healthy spread.
That's why on the product itself, we created a little super hero, Hninaman, to make kids understand that nourishing food is fun and will make them strong. Not the junk! Superfoods are the real superheros!

Cleaning our bodies from inside is the most important treat we can do to ourselves. Detoxing allows us to clean our bodies. By doing so, we allow our gut to be clean and fully functioning. I love the book of Dr. Junger which is the detox I feel is the most effective and provide long term results. Basically you eat one lunch made of solid food (not broken down) while in the evening and morning you get 2 liquid meals (pre-digested). You need to leave 12 hours between the last evening meal and the first one in the morning.
The change of season and especially spring is the occasion to clean everything around us so why not including ourselves...?
